About
One luthier, one bench, one build at a time — still small after every build.
Our history
Odieng started in 2016, in a corner of a friend's woodshop in Malang. The first build was a four-string bass for a working musician who wanted something specific.
Ten years and roughly forty instruments later, the workshop is still small. One luthier, one bench, one instrument at a time. The waitlist grew by word of mouth — session players, touring musicians, and a handful of collectors.
We don't make the cheapest custom instruments in Indonesia. We try to make the most thoughtful ones.
Every Odieng is planned, voiced, and finished by the same pair of hands. No assembly line — just a bench, a collection of well-sourced wood, and time to get the neck, the pickups, and the feel right for the person who will play it.
